and headers on 3.5mm centers that offer significant design, performance, cost and
delivery advantages over others on the market has been introduced by PCD Inc.
The new ELX 3.5mm high density pluggable system, which also includes fixed
blocks, is ideal for industrial automation, telecom/datacom, HVAC, and security
applications where high performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness are
essential.

ELX plugs and headers are available in 2 through 20 positions in a broad variety
of configurations. The plugs are intermateable and interchangeable with
competitive 3.5mm pluggables. The ELXM 3.5mm blocks are supplied in 2
through 10 positions and in horizontal, vertical or angled configurations.

The ELX plug terminal blocks feature beryllium copper contacts, which eliminate
relaxation problems and offer significantly higher normal force after repeated
insertions and withdrawals than competitive phosphor bronze equivalents. In
addition, contacts are electro-tin plated after blanking and forming, whereas
competitive contacts are stamped from pre-plated stock. The all-over plating on the
ELX contact provides enhanced corrosion protection for high reliability.

Other design features include side-by-side stackability of plugs in a header without
losing a contact position, and the use of ultra-high temperature glass filled
polyamide header and plug materials that provide exceptional dimensional stability
and prevent distortion during soldering.

All ELX plugs and headers are offered in an alternative green color, in addition to
the standard black, to meet the needs of systems requiring color compatibility with
existing green terminal blocks.
